Eat for Cheap in South Beach

To put it bluntly, South Beach is expensive.  From the food to the hotels, the area can be pretty steeply-priced. For the most part, many people know this coming down the beach to visit, and plan accordingly. However, not one everyone wants to spend big bucks on every, single thing they purchase throughout the trip. Not every meal in South Beach needs to be expensive. Believe it or not, there are plenty of eat for cheap places in the area.

Here are a few great places that won’t break the bank. Whether you’re in the mood for some Latin/Mexican flavors or something to satisfy your sweet tooth, there’s something for everyone with these sweet deals.

My Cevice
235 Washington Ave, Miami Beach
My Cevice is the spot to go to for quick and fresh seafood. The take-out window place features a number of different ceviches that are pretty for a light, grab-and-so bite to eat. They also serve up burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, salads,  and lots of sides. Prices: one taco is $3.50, three tacos are $9.95; a medium portion of ceviche is $11.95; a ceviche bowl is $9.95; a side of tostones is $3.75; and all salads are $6.95 without add-ons.

Taquiza
1506 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
Taquiz is a Mexican taquería that cooks up tacos and other Mexican street-type food. Their tortillas and chips are homemade and made daily. Prices: Carnitas are $3.50; totopos(hand-torn masa chips) are $5; chicken tacos are $3.50; and a choco taco is $4.

Go-Go is a well-known spot on South Beach for not only being a cheap-food option, but a healthy-food spot, as well. They offer salads, soups and their “famous” Go-Go Pies (empanadas). The pies have fillings such as: cheesesteak, Thai peanut chicken, shrimp scampi, and eggplant parmigiana. The pies cost $2.75 each. Other prices include: mini salads ($4.95-$7.65); big salads ($7.75-$11.05); and soup ($3-$5.50).

South Beach Water Activities: Part 2

People come to South Beach for a variety of reasons. But, it may be safe to say the main reason is the beach itself – it’s beautiful. The city’s beach draws thousands of visitors each year. And this beach, isn’t just for tanning or sleeping on. South Beach is home to endless water sports and activities for people to have fun and be entertained.

 

Last month, we shared some popular water activities on the blog, but since there are so many, we wanted to share more! Below is a few more South Beach favorites that will guarantee you some fun in the sun.

 

Flyboarding

Want to feel like you’re flying? Flyboarding is a water-powered device that shoots you up out of the water like a jetpack; its attached to your feet (boots) and is powered by a hose connected to a jet ski. The way the device looks, it has been compared to flying like Iron Man. Both children and adults can enjoy this activity. People can choose to do this for 30 minutes or an hour. Lessons are available for those who have never tried this before. Safety equipment is also provided.

Gondola Rides

Who says you have to travel all the way to Venice, Italy, for a beautiful, blissful ride in a gondola? Stay stateside and climb into a gondola and sail alongside Miami Beach. These rides are great for couple who want a romantic Venetian experience or fun for groups of friends and family. Gondola rides can bring guests through the Miami Beach Canals and tours can last anywhere from 45 to 60 minutes.
